Are you looking for a roommate? Because I am looking for a home. My name is Julie, and I am about to start at the Corcoran in the Book Arts program. I'm a pretty fabulous lady to live with. I'm very relaxed, low-key, low-drama, and I'm fully housebroken. My parents did a magnificent job. I've had about 8 roommates/housemates in the past so I can even give you references. They'll tell you how spectacular I was! I'm pretty clean but not overly Swiss design-art museum-clinical lab kind of clean. I don't wear shoes in the house because that concept boggles my Chinese mind. In the past, I've lived with 2 people who wore shoes in the house, and I pretended that I was an anthropologist studying someone else's exotic culture. Fascinating. I normally keep to myself and mind my own business, but if you want to have a slumber party night, I will not hesitate to whip out a pan of pizza rolls and tell ghost stories. I try to cook more often than I eat out. I have an Alton Brown cookbook that was signed by the man himself. Yes, you too can have access to this valuable resource. I like watching his shows, but let's face it, Food Network has really gone down the crapper in the recent years. I do watch a fair bit of television and movies, but I don't require cable where we live. I really just need internet, air conditioning, and sufficient locks on the door to protect me from crusty jugglers, the Avon lady, and zombies. I also need to be near public transportation because I do not have a car.
A little bit about me: I'm 25. I'm originally from Dallas, Texas. I've never lived anywhere outside of Texas, but I have traveled a lot (several countries in in Western Europe and Eastern Asia) and have many stories I'm happy to share. I graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in Communication Design. I later worked as a graphic designer and moonlighted as a hostess/waitress extraordinaire. I like to go out and stay in about 50/50. It's always fun to go out on adventures, but I have had some pretty wild nights at home with fish tacos and 80s dance movies. Long live Kevin Bacon. I do not smoke. I drink a little on occasion, but not to Jersey Shore levels. That's what undergrad is for. I don't really eat junk food. I like being healthy and will sometimes work out to youtube dance tutorials. I can show you the Jai Ho dance from Slumdog Millionaire. I'm pretty chill and low-maintenance so I am hoping to live as cheaply as possible without getting killed/maimed/hurt physically or emotionally/get my measly furniture stolen. That's pretty much key; I am a starving artist on a budget. You can find me on Facebook as Julie Newmar-Tou-Sheah or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
